What a fun weekend had at Freeman’s Organic farm stalls. Through winding lush green hills, I made my way to the top of Tomewin Mountain amidst a plethora of motorbikes. Not far down the north side of Tomewin Mountain road, there’s a newly installed cafe, Espresso Xcellence amidst the market produce stalls of Freeman’s Organics Farm.
The view is just magnificent, overlooking the Currumbin Valley. Weather was beautiful for the second weekend of their “Live Music” performers…..ME.
Though Saturday was a bit gusty, the crowd were appreciative and the staff incredibly supportive, providing me with yummy coffee and incredibly cheap but high quality food.
You can’t get the Tomewin Burger anywhere BUT Espresso Xcellence. If the music and the location aren’t enough to get you in your car for a leisurely weekend drive (or ride if you’re motorcylically-inclined), the burger certainly should.
Dan who runs Espresso Xcellence with this family, is quite possibly the happiest barista I’ve had the pleasure of being served by. He loves what he does and it shows in the excellent service and wonderful food and beverages.
Sunday was equally as beautiful. Taking in the breath-taking view again, once I’d setup, Dan was waiting with coffee in hand to stimulate my vocal chords (which were in desperate need having gone to a mate’s BBQ the night before that went on til the wee hours).
With more CD sales and a few people taking home my card for their “next event”, it was a great day. Though it’s difficult to sing moving your head to watch the regular passing convoy of bike riders on some truly dribble-inducing machines.
Looking forward to the next gig at this fantastic location.
Big ups to Josh Gray from Weekend Warrior Photography for the lovely piccy! Luv yer werk, Joddy!
